Great job by everyone at Button's Heating! From the first phone call, where I was able to get loads of info from Nigel, to the in-house visit by Todd where he gave us lots more information, advice/opinion, suggestions, and made sure we were going to get the right unit for our needs. Todd was knowledgeable, honest, upfront, personable, and was willing to take the time to explain everything and answer all our questions. He wasn't pushy or commission driven. All appointments were easy to set up and everyone was always on time. The install technicians Jonathan and Mark and the service technician Mario did an awesome job installing the unit and all the associated parts and components, setting everything up, making sure everything was working properly, and then taking the time to go through and explain everything. Office staff was great as well, always courteous and helpful. Great job Button's Heating! Very good experience! Definitely glad we called, very highly recommended! Our 29 year old AC unit died on one of the hottest days of year - a Thursday evening. I called Button's and spoke with Nigel. Nigel came into the City to provide an estimate on the Friday evening - he was going on vacation that weekend. Nigel patiently reviewed the options and pricing with us - in our house with no AC!
After we gave the go ahead, Button's sent their crew out for to the install the following week. John was the lead installer - he arrived promptly and worked diligently with his partner to complete the install.
The crew was clean, competent and courteous. They did a great install and walked me though the operation of the furnace, AC and humidifier.
I've had a few follow up questions and they've been great on the phone and email helping me out.

Full disclosure here: this is a long review but I feel I wouldn't do the installation and sales experience justice with a shorter one. If you don't want to read the whole thing look at the stars above and scroll for other opinions.
Other reviewers have raved about the excellent customer service and good personal experience they have had with this company. We looked at other alternatives and decided on Button's for replacement of our furnace which had its faulty heat exchanger replaced twice and control board once. The A/C unit was also on its last legs and we decided to address both at the same time. Nigel was immediately responsive and we were able to set up an in home visit with Todd in a decent timeframe. He was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. I had done my homework on other companies offerings for furnace and A/C brands and had the opportunity to discuss pros and cons with Todd directly.
The initial visit started with Todd looking at the original installation of the A/C unit, intakes and exhausts and asking if I wanted any re-sited. Once that was done he did a square footage calculation and took a look at the existing furnace, duct work, humidifier and tankless water heater. We discussed trouble spots, maintenance of the current furnace should we wish not to replace it, and options for furnace orientation and service access should we wish to finish the basement area around it. Going back upstairs we had a fairly long conversation about options and pros/cons of different brands and Tiers of each brand (Daikin and Trane) we were considering. At no point did I feel pressured to choose the most expensive option or even to replace all the components of our system. We did not, in the end select the cheapest option, but felt we struck a good balance between features, price, warranty, and serviceability including the availability of replacement parts. The cost was about or slightly higher than what I expected based on my conversations with neighbours who chose other companies but it was the approach, availability, and proximity of the company to my house that won me over. I understand the high ratings here and on Homestars.
Another thing that I was happy about was Button's insurance carriage and WSIB registration. Accidents happen and they clearly are interested in safety of their employees and protection of their customers' property.
The day of the installation came and I was out of the country, leaving my better half to be there. The installers were on time, laid down protective runners, efficiently removed the old components and installed the new ones. When I got back to take a look at the installation, the furnace and humidifier installation area in the basement was left just as clean, if not cleaner, than the way it started. There was no damage to our hardwood floors, doors or walls. The installation of the A/C unit was a conversion from metal stand-mount to concrete pad which also was done very well. Wiring , intake, exhaust and coolant lines were run beautifully and sealed artistically. The same was true of the electrical in the basement and water lines for the humidifier including drip lines into the basement drain.
If I had one criticism it would be that I really miss my Nest thermostat which would not allow us to take advantage of our new variable speed furnace. If we went with Daikin it would have been a better native fit with nest but alas it was not to be. The thermostat will take some getting used to and for remote control requires a Nexia Bridge which I had to purchase separately and am now paying a monthly fee for. We do have some other nexia components so I don't feel too bad about it but nest was/is nice.
All in all this is a company that takes pride in its customer service and its work. We can already feel the difference in more even heating and cooling and the system not having to play catch-up to get to a set temperature. I think you get what you pay for with Button's. Looking forward to a stress free winter hearing season. Thanks guys.

Great service from Brian. He answered texts and phone calls within a speedy time frame. Installation was seamless. I am happy with my purchase of a Daikin air conditioning and furnace.
