- A multi-zone (also called a multi-split) ductless system connects an outdoor unit to one or more indoor units, letting you control the temperature in several different zones of your home. An outdoor multi-split unit is placed outside your home and is connected to one or more indoor units in separate rooms or living spaces. Ductless systems deliver efficient cooling with lots of flexibility. Like single zone systems, they can provide climate control for small additions that aren’t connected to existing duct work.
